Sharing expertise
in the regions, opening
up to the world
A national benchmark hub founded on the
acknowledged museological expertise of the
Cité des sciences and the Palais de la découverte,
Universcience lends its support to numerous initiatives
aimed at promoting scientific and technical
culture, in the form of partnerships, engineering
and exportation as well as active participation in
reviews by national and international museological
networks.
In France, this support is reflected in multiple initiatives

• Close cooperation with scientific culture professionals:
museums, science centres, universities, grass-roots

• The design and pooling of innovative projects and digital tools
for professionals with a scientific and technical culture portal
supported by the national «Investments for the future»
programme;
• Commitment to national networks such as:
— The AMCSTI (association of museums and centres for the
development of scientific, technical and industrial culture),
tied to Universcience by a framework agreement;
— The OCIM (office for museographic cooperation and
information).
Internationally, Universcience is actively involved
within networks as follows:
• ECSITE (European network of science centres and museums)
for which Universcience holds the vice-presidency;
• ICOM (International Council of Museums) as an ex officio
member of the board for the ICOM France bureau;
• international French cultural networks as part of a

for the Francophonie;
• ASTC (Association of Science Centres and technology Centers).
On the European level, the establishment makes an active

for research,
Horizon 2020
, and has launched a think tank
drawing together CEOS from major European science museums.
