TRAVELLING OR COPRODUCED EXHIBITIONS
Every year, more than 600,000 visitors discover Universcience
travelling or co-produced exhibitions in France and
internationally.
For temporary events or preparatory operations,
Universcience teams offer à la carte support based on
their catalogue of travelling exhibitions.
Three European science centres, Universcience in France,
Heureka in Finland and Ciencia Viva in Portugal has come
together design and produce three exhibitions :
Risk, or not
to risk, Mental disorder and Vira
l. The exhibition
Risk
was
designed by Universcience and presented in the three others
science centres of the consortium.
Other exhibitions are on the circuit in France and worldwide,
such as:
• The travelling exhibition
Decoding the hair
for L’Oreal
Foundation presented in over 20 science museums in
13 countries around the world to a total of 1,75 million
visitors;
• In Kuwait, the exhibition
Bon appétit, Food from Every Angle
was presented at The Scientific Center;
• A successful tour for the exhibition
Leonardo da Vinci
which was presented at the Deutsches Museum in Munich
(Germany), in Brasilia and Sao Paulo (Brazil), and
at the Science Museum in London (United Kingdom).
CULTURAL ENGINEERING EXPERTISE
Universcience welcomes a wide variety of visitors to
its sites. Its museological equipment is tried and tested.
It has designed and continues to export an original concept
for children, namely the Cité des enfants. For all these reasons
Universcience boasts genuine expertise which it places
at the service of regional and foreign partners. Universcience
supports each project initiator throughout the process,
from the creation of new amenities to the renewal of
existing space as well as exhibition start-up and training staff.
For instance, Universcience:
• assisted with the programming of the
Cité de l’Océan
in Biarritz;
• created a
Cité des enfants
in one of Dubai’s biggest shopping
centres;
• advised on renovation of the science centre in the Emirate
of Sharjah.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES
Every year, over 500,000 school children from throughout
France and internationally are welcomed to the Cité des
sciences et de l’industrie and the Palais de la découverte, on
one-day or longer visits. Educational materials, written
and multimedia complement this device
TRAINING ACTIONS AND EXCHANGING
EXPERIENCE
Festival of science, science workshops, international
fairs and the manning of stands also mobilise the mediators
of Universcience who intervene throughout France and
internationally, examples being:
• the Science Picnic in Warsaw in 2011;
• the Science Festival in South Korea in 2010 and 2011;
• and the Beijing Science Festival in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
