Explore the New Cité des Enfants

The Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie has recently unveiled a brand-new Cité des Enfants for ages 5–10, fully redesigned to offer an even more exciting space for play, discovery, and hands-on exploration.

This new universe is divided into five immersive “worlds” that children and their guardians can explore freely:

  • Topsy-Turvy World: the ground is flipped 90° to reveal what lies beneath our feet—an entire underground ecosystem.
  • Water Games: a space where the physics of water becomes a fun, interactive experience.
  • Funfair: to test agility, coordination, and balance through playful challenges.
  • Resourceful Workshop: a creative lab for tinkering, inventing, and experimenting with different materials.
  • Curious House: a quirky home where seven monsters try to live like humans—with plenty of amusing surprises!

An Animated Science area rounds out the experience, where scientific mediators bring science to life through live demonstrations.

This new opening marks the first phase of a complete renovation of the Cité des Enfants. The area for ages 2–5 is currently closed for renovation and is scheduled to reopen in summer 2026.

Additionally, selected elements from the new Cité des Enfants are available for duplication and export. Universcience regularly partners with scientific and cultural institutions around the world to share its expertise and support the creation of their own child-focused discovery spaces.

The Cité des Enfants: an innovative concept since 1992

This concept, which is popular with children and their parents alike, reflects Universcience's specific expertise in the field of fun and educational museography. Through play, discovery and exploration, the Cité des enfants contributes to the development and awakening of the youngest children.
